Beach View Apartments

Wonderfully relaxing when we weren't getting wiped out on the waves.

Pros: Perfect location as we were surfing, also ideal for the SW coastal walks with dog. Lovely place with just the right amount amenities on your doorstep. If you bring your shopping for the stay there's no reason to get back in the car until you leave.

Cons: Small issue with oven, but that was probably user error, but the weather was wonderful so we used the bbq anyway.

Excellent. You will not be dissapointed.

Pros: The apartment is spacious, clean and in an amazing location. Literally 2 minutes to the pub and less than 5 minutes to the beach. I can't emphasise how big the apartment is and eve with 5 people it doesn't feel cramped. The owners were super helpful. They also very kindly left free scones, homemade jam, cornish cream and milk in the fridge. It was all delicious.

Cons: The double bed was way too soft for me. I could feel the wooden slat through the mattress. Also, the curtains could've been darker as I was waking up around 7am every day due to the sun. Also, the TV had three remotes and was way too confusing to get working (and I pride myself on my IT literate). But these are minor concerns.

Perfect location, apartment needs an update.

Pros: Excellent location. Everything within reach, no need to drive. Lovely little village. Nice sized apartment, nice little garden. Great little outdoor shower for washing wetsuits/sandy feet. Very handy to have a washing machine and dishwasher. Welcomed with scones, jam and cream. Nice to have a picnic table outside.

Cons: The whole apartment needed an update. Beds and sofa not particularly comfortable. Kitchen cupboards smelt very damp. The cutlery/crockery/pans/utensils all needed to be cleaned before use, as they had food on them. The oven needed cleaning inside as did all the trays. The steps down are very narrow and uneven, with no handrail or lighting at night. The water temperature on the hot tap is far too high, coming out scalding straight away. Please be careful with children.

Pros: Perfectly situated right on the beach opposite the play area for the kids to play in. Having the PlayStation there available to us with the buzz games brought us hours of fun Second trip to Porthtowan and we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else

Lovely all round, perfect for people with young ones.

Pros: This property is very close to the beach, in fact there’s no need to put on any footwear it’s that close by. So the location is brilliant. There is just about everything you’ll need in this home from home, if you’re going with children, as there’s board games, DVD’s (adults & kids), nice little outside area with a picnic bench, bunk beds, vacuum, ironing board… etc. The owner is very attentive and friendly. The best fish and chip shop is a few metres away, it’s called Seasmith’s and it’s second to none (ask for their home made Tartar Sauce)! There’s a play park directly opposite. I really wished we had taken the kids as this is absolutely amazing all round for people with young ones. Lovely gesture of milk, jam, scones and cream (all locally made!) in the fridge upon arrival.

Cons: To be expected in this price bracket when so close to the sea but it’s a little bit run down. Everything is well worn, which can be a bonus when taking young ones as there’s nothing to spoil with sandy feet and so on. The place needs a deep clean, the floors weren’t clean and lots of dusty areas and shower screen etc needs replacing/scrubbing. The outside front and rear need sweeping and doors cleaning, tonnes of cobwebs and weeds. I think a little tidy up and replacing of a few worn items and this place would be top marks. Despite these comments we would definitely go back again, this time with the kids.

Pros: Incredible location, 2 mins walk to the beach, with on site parking. Welcome gift and direct comms with host to make sure we felt welcome. A great place to stay for a week or so.
