Painters Cottage 2-Bed Chalet nr St Ives & Hayle

All in all we had a great stay and it’s perfect to use as a base for holiday makers. Would recommend and would stay agai

Pros: Painters Cottage is in the heart of the John Fowler St Ives holidaying site, surrounded by woods. The chalet itself is cozy and has everything you need for a family of 2/4 (depending on age). 2 smaller sized bedrooms, toilet/shower and kitchen/living area. It was quiet and snug, hot water on tap with a good shower. WIFI was good and strong. We stayed for 7 nights, 2 adults, 1 child (12), and 2 dogs. (August 2025) There are various places to eat locally, as well as a stables (my daughter rides), shops and cafes. Local supermarkets are close enough too. We didn’t use the onsite entertainment as John Fowlers are notoriously not good, but we don’t bother with that stuff really anyway, did use the pool which we had to book through the John Fowler app. Great place for walking and to walk the dogs. Lovely and quite site with plenty to do. Onsite laundry facilities too, as well as a little shop which is a bit pricy.

Cons: No freezer…. Which is essential for a longer stay. We managed for 7 nights. The TV could have been bigger, and needed a better location/bracket. TV channels need re-ordering (remotes need sorting out, 3 for 1 telly that all do different things 🤣) Door was a bit stiff to shut/lock.

Enjoyable mini break

Pros: The linen was clean and the beds were comfy so all good. It was budget end accommodation but everything was there that could be needed. Very peaceful surroundings too.

Cons: The frontage was a bit shabby, outside table needed a clean and coat of stain plus the tv was rather primitive and small with a temperamental remote.

Great getaway

Pros: We were really happy with our stay! Great place for families and perfect if you're bringing pets too. The Wi-Fi was recently installed, fibre, and worked flawlessly - everyone was able to stream what they wanted, when they wanted. This would be a great little getaway place to get some remote work done. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. Great facilities on site, including a handy bus to the beach. Would definitely stay again!

Cons: Can't think of anything that we didn't like. The negative reviews listed don't reflect our experience of this chalet at all.

Cons: Nothing it was amazing will be using them again!

Pros: Sehr schön Anlage vor allem der Woodwalk mit Spielplatz im Wald und die Sitzgelegenheiten direkt vor dem Eingang außen.

Cons: Der Duschvorhang im Badezimmer hat schon bessere Zeiten erlebt und das Bad ist für eine Familie sehr eng.
