Fuchsia Cottage

Fuschia Cottage is a visual treat; from carefully curated artwork inside to verdant gardens outside.

Pros: Location is perfect if you like quiet, secret, out-of-the-way Cornwall (which we do). It's in a tiny hamlet, down a track and surrounded by banana trees, tree ferns, hydrangeas and fuschias. It's clean, tastefully decorated and remarkably well equipped. I've never had such a plethora of cleaning products, soaps, towels, kitchen basics before which was a godsend as this year I decided not to take my own. There's even a coffee machine with pods. Amazing! This is so much more than just about every holiday cottage I've ever rented, and it makes the holiday much less hassle as a result. And we liked the shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom so much that it seems my partner has ordered some, judging from the package that was delivered 5 minutes ago! The gardens are also lovely to look at and wander around. I'm feeling inspired to use more statues and art in my own now after seeing how Julian and Frances have incorporated it.

Cons: My partner is NOT keen on the width of some of the roads in the surrounding area, and I think there's a good reason why most local cars are smaller and narrower than ours. But as long as you expect narrow Cornish roads, drive accordingly and aren't too worried about the occasional scratch or reversing for tractors then you'll be fine. There's a reason this is the quiet part of Cornwall after all...

Es war alles wunderbar.

Pros: Das Cottage von Julian ist wunderschön gelegen in in einem sehr schönen Teil von Cornwall. Es ist sehr geschmackvoll und schön eingerichtet, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten einige sonnige Tage und aber auch bei Regen kann man es sich hier im Cottage wunderbar gemütlich machen. Es gibt viele Bücher, DVD‘s und Spiele für die ganze Familie. Vom Wohnzimmer aus kann man beim Essen die zahlreichen Vögel beobachten, die in den Garten kommen. Der Garten selbst lädt zum entspannen und verweilen ein und ist außergewöhnlich schön bepflanzt. Sehr aufmerksam war auch der leckere Empfangskorb mit Köstlichkeiten aus der Region. Vielen lieben Dank dafür.

Ein Urlaub zum Wohlfühlen in abgeschiedener Lage.

Pros: Die Unterkunft ist liebevoll eingerichtet und hat einen sehr schön angelegten Garten. In der Küche ist, bis auf eine Spülmaschine, alles vorhanden, um über die Runden zu kommen ☺️. Die Anfahrt ist für deutsche Autofahrer sicherlich etwas „abenteuerlich“ oder eben typisch „cornish“. Ein kleines Fischerdörfchen und ein gepflegtes Pub sind wenige Minuten entfernt. St. Michael‘s Mount, Kynance Cove, Land‘s End, Mousel, Minac Theatre sind innerhalb 30-60 Minuten per Auto erreichbar.

Cons: Eine Toilette für 5-6 Personen sind manchmal ein Engpass.
