Beautiful and peaceful

Pros: It is a beautiful building on a huge estate located in a quiet area close to the centre of Truro. It was very clean and comfortable, the staff fulfilled all requests and gave good advice on what to do in the area. You could sit outside on wooden benchrs and have a picnic or just enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. We can highly recommend to go and stay there!

Good apart from the worry about water.

Pros: Beautiful gardens, peaceful, good supplies of coffee and tea, cookie too. Self check in and instructions were clear. Comfortable bed. Nice shower. Nice walk to the church nearby. Interesting history.

Cons: A sign on the tap to say water was not suitable for drinking. No drinking water apart from a small bottle of water. No instructions on if the non drinking water was ok to drink if boiled. I messaged the out of office phone number asking about the water but no response. No one to ask. No shops nearby to buy more water. I walked with luggage from the railway station so was thirsty and was shocked about the water. In the end I boiled the water for drinking and cooled it. The small bottle of water wasn’t enough for me. I didn’t suffer any ill effects from drinking the boiled water. It tasted ok. The place is up a hill so you need to be fairly fit to walk there from the railway station. I messaged on Thursday evening about check in but didn’t get a reply.

Incredible historic location with clean, modern rooms

Pros: The location was excellent, with just a short walk or drive intro central Truro. The views from the property are incredible, and there’s easy access to the local valley and countryside. There was also just something really special about staying in such an historic location. The rooms were incredibly clean and modern, and far nicer than those in similarly priced or more expensive nearby hotels that I considered.

Cons: Nothing.

A tranquil escape in a beautiful location, with good accommodation and a nice breakfast

Pros: The room was of a good size with an ensuite bathroom, the shower was very powerful. The House is in quiet but convenient location and the grounds are gorgeous to sit and walk in. The self service breakfast was excellent with a range of fruit and yoghurt, breads for toasting and toppings as well the ability to boil your own eggs. Fruit juice and different types of tea and coffee were available in the dining area which is peaceful. The staff were so helpful and friendly, right from first contact to leaving.
