Stable End

A perfect, peaceful, and luxurious countryside escape where every detail has been carefully thought about.

Pros: Everything about this stay was amazing. The lodge was immaculate, extremely comfortable, and beautifully presented. The bedroom was cosy, the bathroom was modern and spotless, and the lounge area was so warm and inviting with a lovely seating and dining area. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped with every utensil and appliance needed, all easy to use, and there were so many thoughtful extras such as games, local activity leaflets, and dressing gowns — they truly thought of everything. The wood-fired hot tub was a highlight and very easy to maintain temperature. The garden area was private and secluded, making it feel really special. Having friendly goats and animals nearby was a lovely touch and always a highlight. We also bumped into both owners and felt incredibly welcomed, which added so much to the experience.

Cons: The only small issue was the outside sensor light, which illuminated the entire decking and hot tub area but switched off when there was no movement. This meant it went dark while relaxing in the hot tub at night. It may be adjustable, but we weren’t sure how to change it (tried the light switch inside). Aside from this very minor point, there were absolutely no faults at all.

Pros: Lovely place, very remote and quiet. Hot tub was ready for my arrival and they also offered to have it ready for my return the next day. It felt like home from home.

Cons: Could do with a better cooker. It took me about 45 mins to cook a pizza lol, but that's about it. The place was amazing.

Pros: It’s in a beautiful location but you definitely need a car to get anywhere. It was equipped with everything you could need. Lovely open plan kitchen/living room/dining, very spacious. Absolutely loved the fact there was a dishwasher and the tablets for it were supplied. Highlight of this place is the wood fired hot tub. The hosts even offered to fire it up so that it would be at the right temperature for our arrival. Very comfy beds. The hosts were absolutely wonderful. The message replies were instant. They were right on hand during our stay should we have needed them but let us have our privacy. Little things, like milk already in the fridge and a little note left for us were a lovely touch. The welcome folder was very informative about the property and the local area which was appreciated.

Cons: The only tiny little negative thing I can possibly think of is that the hoover didn’t work very well. But there was a broom and a dustpan and brush so we just used that.
