Lake View Lodge

We had a great time and would stay again. Able to take 2 dogs at very short notice.

Pros: Excellent hosts, easy to contact. Tried very hard to resolve an issue. Reception staff at Retallack were very helpful and Keith the Maintenance Man was exceptional.

Cons: Faulty freezer.

Wonderful stay with friends

Pros: Great communication from the owners. Had no issues with the accomodation, was very clean, well appointed and hot tub was well maintained during our stay. Beds were really comfortable!

Cons: Nothing, was all fantastic. Would definitely stay again.

Well specced lodge, great for socialising

Pros: The lodge is a really good size, lots of social space and good sized bedrooms. Well specced with facilities. Loved the hot tub, and it was great to be able to relax in it in the Autumn evenings after sunset with the stars overhead. Communication with the host was excellent, with rapid assistance provided for the one or two little queries we raised. Retallack also has some really good facilities and we made use of several during our stay - the shop, restaurant, spa, swimming pool and sauna, as well as Guest Services.

Cons: Nothing - it was all good.

Absolutely fantastic!

Pros: We stayed at lake view lodge from the 19th-22nd of September and we were absolutely blown away, there are 4 bedrooms which was more than enough to accommodate our party, all equipped with everything you need plus two family bathrooms which made bathtime for my toddler so easy! With a big open plan kitchen and living room it meant socialising and cooking was done together. There was a projector room upstairs that we didn’t actually get to use but maybe next time! We spent a lot of time in the hot tub which was super clean and a great thing to have and use through out the weekend! There were games, highchair, travel cot and even a stroller which made it much easier for me travelling with a toddler. Lisa the owner was fantastic and friendly and was available to answer any questions we had even leaving a birthday bottle of prosecco for our arrival! We will be returning!

Perfect, peaceful, relaxed!

Pros: Stayed here for the weekend to celebrate two friends' 50th birthdays. We were husband and child free so we found the location perfect for us and our needs. Plenty of things for children to do but it didn't factor in our time away. Lodge was amazing, plenty of room, everything you could possibly need was provided and the bonus was the hot tub which added to our very much needed, relaxing time. Just perfect x

We’ve had the most amazing time in Cornwall and made so many memories to last a lifetime. Our stay at Retallack and Lake

Pros: The lodge is beautiful and a great size for our party (there were 4 adults, 3 kids and 2 small dogs). The terrace is a great feature and gets quite a lot of sun, so having the garden furniture and the hot tub on there was a huge bonus. There was plenty of cooking facilities and well equipped for self catering. The layout of the lodge was perfect for us. 2 double bedrooms downstairs for the adults and 2 bedrooms upstairs for the kids (one of the rooms being a twin room). The cinema room is also a great feature, which the kids enjoyed. The property is in a great location with plenty of little towns nearby. The onsite facilities were also a huge bonus, including the spa, flow rider and the kids entertainment of an evening.

Cons: If I had to give any constructive feedback on the lodge, I personally feel the films for the cinema room could be updated, and with the lodge sleeping 8 people and there was 7 of us, there wasn’t enough seats for us all to watch a film, upstairs or downstairs. The only other slight issue we had was the hot tub. We were there for 10 days and there was 7 people using it. As much as we showered before going in, and trying to stay as clean as possible, the hot tub was only visited by staff once during our stay. The hot tub was used a lot as it’s a huge feature and the main reason we chose this lodge, so towards the end of our stay we couldn’t use it as it needed cleaning.

Pros: I can’t recommend this lodge enough — it was absolutely beautiful! Spotlessly clean, incredibly spacious, and finished with so many thoughtful touches that made it feel like a true home from home. It had everything we could possibly need and more. The location was perfect, just a short drive from Newquay, Perranporth, and Padstow, all of which we explored. The owners were fantastic — so friendly and helpful, with amazing communication throughout. Our kids loved the space, the hot tub, and all the games provided, and we enjoyed relaxing dinners in the lodge every evening thanks to the fully equipped kitchen. We’ve already booked again for next year — a definite 10/10 from us!

Pros: Beautiful spot in a lovely location that is well placed to visit many surrounding areas.

Cons: There were a few minor broken or damaged bits in the accommodation and not 100% clean or spotless so this let it down a little.

A lovely getaway, relaxing and proof you can have a good holiday stay in England without breaking the bank.

Pros: Peaceful and quiet area, hot tub was one of the better ones we have used, projector was a cool feature.

Cons: The place is a little tired, and needs touch ups , It’s lovely and looks clean , but just things like cracked floor tiles in the downstairs bathroom or the wooden floors down stairs are all scratched up need polish and varnish , just to make it look a bit fresher and the shower downstairs the door is missing one of the runners so wont close properly, and the handle to the shower kept coming off when turning the shower on , small things and didn’t ruin our stay, but would have made our stay at 10/10 rather than a 9/10

Pros: Friendliness of the host who were available to chat and help with any questions. The location of the lodge was perfect for us to venture out and explore the area including the coast. Everything in the lodge we needed for our stay, including the the Hot tub which was fantastic. Facilities on the site including the Surfing machine, bar/restaurant etc all good.

Cons: Just one small niggle. There was leak under the sink were the water had to be collected in a bowl and thrown out.
