Beautiful house in the lovely and fascinating seaside town of Falmouth.

Pros: Key safe with clear instructions near front door. Beautiful house with antique furniture and vintage objects of interest. Light and airy due to the large windows. Walking distance to town centre but quiet. Great garage parking at rear. Terraced patio garden at rear which would have been used if weather warmer. Lovely large well equipped kitchen. We had an issue with a leak through ceiling due to heavy rainy windy weather and a blocked gutter but the contact given to us was extremely quick to respond and come round to sort out and ensure our safety. An electrician and gutter person were also arranged at our convenience. The owners who did not live nearby were immediately in contact by phone and e-mail and refunded some money as goodwill gesture. This was very well appreciated by us and we were impressed by their responsiveness and care.

Cons: A really minor issue but as a keen gardener the pots at front and outside house could have been a magnificent addition to the beautiful house but they looked neglected and well dead!! ...perhaps because end of a very dry summer season but a job lot of bright geraniums would have been a happy welcoming sight and in keeping with the lovely house. Just a suggestion for the next summer season.

Lovely home, good hosts and we would like to return one day.

Pros: Our family really enjoyed staying at The Captain’s House, it was a comfortable home from home. Very well equipped overall. The welcome pack of coffee, tea and saffron buns, with flowers on the table was a nice touch. The house was well located for us to walk down to Falmouth Harbour and explore the streets full of interesting shops and galleries, restaurants, cafes and bars. The double garage was a luxury, and the house location enjoys easy access for exploring further afield.

Cons: As a group of 5, three adults and two lanky teenagers, we could really have used another actual shower. The steep walk back up the hills from Falmouth could be a challenge!

FABULEUX
