The Headland Hotel and Spa

Overlooking Fistral Beach, this stylish Victorian hotel features a Five Bubble rated spa, surf school, approach golf course and a wonderful sea-view terrace. Awarded a 5-stay AA rating, the Headland Hotel is a 10-minute walk from Newquay centre. The impressive leisure facilities include a brand new Aqua Club which includes 6 outdoor and indoor pools (open all year round). The spa includes a Cornish salt steam room, a Swedish sauna, a hot tub, and experience showers. Treatments by Elemis, Voya and OPI can be booked in the state-of-the-art ash wood panelled rooms or work out in the fully equipped Life Fitness gym. There are three restaurants, and the hotel has been awarded an AA rosette. Guests can enjoy the best of Cornish coastal produce in the restaurant RenMor. The Deck as part of the Aqua Club offers poolside drinks, and Mediterranean dining. Afternoon teas and Cornish breakfasts are available, and the bar offers cocktails and fine wines. The spacious 5-star bedrooms at The Headland have free Wi-Fi access and satellite TV. All rooms feature a cosy seating area, a work desk and a modern bathroom with fluffy robes. The hotel has a communal laundry room, where guests can access a washing machine and a tumble dryer, as well as ironing facilities. Perched on a rugged headland, this hotel is just a 20-minute walk from Newquay Railway Station. Free on-site parking is available, and Newquay Golf Club is a 5-minute walk away. The surf school also offers coasteering, stand-up paddleboarding and private surfing lessons. The Headland is dog-friendly and up to two dogs can stay in each bedroom per nights. Regrettably, we are not able to accommodate any other pets. Our bedroom capacities are limited to maximum of 2 people. 1 adult and 1 child (12 and under) can travel together. Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling is also available as a dining option but is operated separately from the Headland.

The perfect anniversary getaway

Pros: Everything. We had the most amazing stay for our wedding anniversary. Every member of staff who we came into contact with was friendly, helpful and genuinely seemed like they loved their work. The hotel had incredible facilities - the spa was something very special. We cannot wait to come back!

Welcoming, warm , and staff excellent.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Great choice. Staff very attentive. Location perfect for us. Plenty to do even with inclement weather. Definitely visit again.

Cons: Maybe some sort of covered walkway between hotel and spa complex. Difficult I know with access required for larger vehicles to the side of the hotel.

Pros: Full of character as it’s 126yrs old this year (2026) but very modern comfortable spaces rooms. Also fantastic attentive staff who go above and beyond to make the stay special. Love the fact they also have to brilliant spa areas.

Special gift experience.

Pros: The whole experience was calm and relaxed. From being greeted at the entrance by Michael, the staff on reception, and those who we had the pleasure to talk with, Sayeed, Dylan, Molly, Verity carried a calm assurance that we were special guests as they went about their duties. They were attentive, and nothing was too much for them. They treated you as a VIP. The ambience of the hotel gave a feeling that you could relax and enjoy every minute of your stay. The food was excellent, well cooked and presented.

Cons: If there were any issues, and there was nothing i didn't like, the overall experience of my stay made them insignificant
