Trenython Manor Resort

Set in 24 acres of beautiful landscaped grounds and woodland areas with panoramic views overlooking St. Austell Bay, Trenython Manor Resort has earned the reputation of being one of the premier locations on the Cornish Riviera for fine dining, comfortable accommodation and total relaxation. The elegant manor itself has tremendous character, featuring many exquisite Italian details, particularly in the magnificent entrance hall. The Egyptian pillars standing inside the front door originated from the Temple of Ephesus and are said to be thousands of years old. Trenython Manor is an architectural treasure, in 1872 an Italian architect commissioned by General Garibaldi, who is often called the father of the modern Italy, designed the building. Other notable objects that can still be seen today include General Wolf’s Headboard, Lord Nelson’s Sea Chest, the dining room walls with carved oak panels and some Italian marbles sent over by Garibaldi which are now in the restaurant. Tastefully renovated to the highest standards, the resort combines Italian architecture with English charm to offer an oasis of tranquillity and a truly unique holiday experience. The extensive range of on-site facilities includes two restaurants, a bar, private dinning room, conference room, a fully equipped indoor swimming pool, sauna and Gym, while Spa treatment rooms offer the ultimate in relaxation and rejuvenation. The Manor is also licensed to host civil ceremony in a variety of settings; the Gott Suite, a converted chapel with beautiful stained-glass windows and a coastal scene backdrop. Or the Du Maurier Suite with wrap around windows and doors leading out onto the splendid sun terrace. A dedicated co-ordinator who will help with every last detail of the wedding day. Over 30 self-catering cottages and lodges, dotted around Trenython Manor’s natural grounds, are furnished and equipped to high standards. Each has a fully fitted kitchen and lounge area, as well as a private patio on which to sit and listen to resident birdsong or watch the ever changing skies over St Austell Bay. If you prefer, stroll along the stunning nearby beaches, or explore the unspoiled scenery and local treasures at your leisure. The Eden Project, one of the world’s most renowned biomes, is just a short drive away from the area, which makes it an ideal spot for a memorable day out.

Pros: Every member of staff was polite, helpful and welcoming. We stayed in a superior suite in the main building which was good value. A large room and comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good.

Cons: You have to leave the main building via the main entrance to access the swimming pool. The changing rooms are small and cramped.

Relaxing

Pros: My third visit staying in one of the bungalows on site and more planned. The staff are friendly and service excellent. The pool is a particularly attraction especially in poor weather. Well located for attractions including The Eden Project, Lost Gardens, several National Trust sites and the natural beauty the area offers. Views from the hotel are lovely.

Cons: NA

Pros: Room was perfect for us as we had our dog , lovely room located downstairs which opened up to a terrace and onto their gardens . Really comfy , pool area was lovely and the main hotel ( which we stayed in ) was beautiful inside and out . Had a 3 course dinner for valentines night which was lovely .

Cons: Only down fall if I had to be picky would of been at breakfast it was a bit chaotic getting to and from the breakfast buffet . Food didnt get topped up quickening snd people waiting for certain food for a while. I didnt have a problem asbi timed it right . But....the breakfast was delicious and the lady serving us couldn't do enough.

A Beautiful Romantic Getaway

Pros: Your Team were fantastic, couldn't ask for more The facilities were great and the estate is beautiful

Cons: There were some issues with heating (quickly resolved) when we arrived, then again just before bed which made the bathroom, hsllwsy and 2nd bedroom pretty cold On a broader point, it would be much better if additional charges in the restaurant were obvious at the start, maybe just included within the pricing structure please

Perfect for a winter getaway at an excellent price on booking.com.

Pros: Beautiful main building, pool, jacuzzi and spa features lovely. Reception and bar staff very welcoming and helpful. Fridge in room. Plenty of wardrobe space.

Cons: Some amenities were missing- pool towels, conditioner, tea milk and biscuits. Also booking said chocolate gift but none given to us. Issue with tv and other people trying to log into it frequently so tv switched off and had to be restarted.
