Great Trethew Manor Hotel & Restaurant

Excellent stay, Rachel made us feel at home :)

Pros: Rachel was wonderful! She couldn’t do enough to help us, and we really appreciated her. The place is lovely and the food was great. We only spent one night but if ever find ourselves back in the area, this is where we will stay :)

Pros: Beautiful place. Excellent facilities but very hard lumpy mattresses ruined what was otherwise a great place to stay.

Cosy and comfortable, slept like a log

Pros: I always feel safe as a female travelling on her own. I also like to put the money back into the local community rather than staying in larger chain hotels. The hotel is in need of some repairs and has a few minor things you would normally complain about in larger chains, but I'm forgiving when it comes to hotels that try their best. The team are always good and make you feel at home.

Beautiful, quirky Manor House set in a stunning part of Cornwall - best night sleep I’ve had in years, lovely staff

Pros: The grounds are lovely, they have a quirky vibe and I found it incredibly relaxing, the birds are beautiful! It was so cool to be able to get within a foot or so of peacocks to take photos, and follow one around taking a video! The staff were fantastic, there were a couple of minor issues with the room that were taken care of as soon as humanly possible, the gentleman who helped (I believe to be the proprietor?) was really helpful and very friendly. Would happily stay again, perhaps in a lodge next time, as they look great too!

Cons: The ponds were a little mucky, but coincidentally there was a news report about a lake in Newquay being the same one of the evenings - algae seems to be difficult this year, so I really don’t think that’s on them.

Pros: I booked a room with a shower. As a walk-in hiker (Lands End to Brighton) a bath is much preferred for easing soreness. The hotel immediately upgraded to a bath at no extra charge. I couldn’t have been more pleased

Pros: The location of the lodge is beautiful. It's surrounded by nature and a must visit. The cottages were very comfortable and had everything that we needed.

Cons: Maybe just some basic condiments for the kitchen could be provided there.

Pros: We stayed in a Lodge which was absolutely beautiful. 2 rooms 2 bathrooms to high standard. It had everything you needed with additional welcome tea coffee milk and board games. Smart TV and Wine Cooler great. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely to see the Peacocks and other birds. Beautiful Location and easy reach to towns, fuel stations. Our son loved the Mustangs in the car park. We wish we could of stayed longer. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

A brilliant retreat in a home from home lodge

Pros: Self catering lodges were bright, airy and newly refinished. Plenty of space and a comfortable stay.

Cons: The water pressure in the lodges was poor.
