Carbis Bay and Spa Hotel

Fabulous location, amazing facilities, great staff and restaurants.

Pros: Location fantastic. Spa wonderful. Our room was very nice and restaurants were great. Staff at Walters on the Beach amazing. Cocktails fabulous.

Cons: Nothing everything greta.

Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pods, the staff at The Carbis Bay Hotel were extremely welcoming and helpful from check in right through to check out. The Pod itself was beautiful and well equipped, with lots of extra goodies on arrival which was a lovely touch. The location itself was lovely and so peaceful, it was the perfect place for a relaxing family gathering for a special birthday. We couldn't recommend enough and look forward to returning again in the near future!

Pros: This was a last minute booking as I was in the area and needed a place to say. Little did I know I discovered a hidden gem.! Absolutely stunning spa overlooking the sea, amazing food in top quality restaurant, and the room was beautiful especially the views. Cannot wait to come back.

The sea view from our second floor room was stunning.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent but on the second day there was a very long delay between the delivery of the cereal and the delivery of the cooked food, almost an hour in fact!

Cons: A very limited range of vegetarian options for my partner in the Beach Club restaurant.

Beautiful

Pros: The pod was beautiful and so cosy. We had a lovely hot tub, fire, sauna and cold plunge and didn’t see a single other person while we were there. The hotel made sure we had everything we needed and the concierge is fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for them even though you are a drive away.

Cons: The pods were a lot further away from the main hotel than was advertised but still beautiful. It is a 9 minute drive to the main hotel. It isn’t something that could be walked.

Wonderful hotel and a fantastic location

Pros: This is an incredible hotel with great staff and a fantastic location, we will certainly be back. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

A bar with a little atmosphere in the orangery would be good. 2 ladies could not order a drink at 10

Pros: Walter’s food and service were exceptional. Staff were brilliant, polite and knowledgable. Great setting.

Cons: Control of disrespectful people allowing large dogs to sit on tables where people will eat (outside). A little control would be good. I will not be sitting at tables outside!!

Luxurious property in a beautiful setting with a few minor flaws

Pros: Luxurious property in a beautiful setting that lives up to the hype. Excellent location right on the beach and a short walk into St Ives town. Very friendly and helpful staff (other than at breakast). Great choice of bars and restaurants. Dinner in the orangery was delicious. Excellent spa facilities.

Cons: Breakfast was absolutely awful - really surprising for a hotel of this standard- cheap, poorly cooked food and below par service. Totally different to the experience at dinner time. We found it odd that the room didn't have a mini bar - tbh it probably saved us several ££ but would normally expect that in a 5* property.
