Unexpectedly lovely!

Pros: Breakfast was superb and made to order. Great restaurant on site. Fantastic location. Modern room which was warm and comfortable. Friendly staff. Free parking outside.

Cons: It was a shame that the room had no sea view but we did know that before booking. The shower attachment needed some attention but that was minor.

Would defo return but book an apartment for the view.

Pros: Amazing food, great staff with very clean and new feel.

Cons: Only negative was not being prewarned that all hotel rooms are at the back of the hotel with no views. I had to close my blind for the stay. All sea facing rooms are apartments.

Great location, lovely friendly staff, tasty breakfast, plenty of parking for a winter visit.

Pros: Breakfast was good, they even opened early for a bacon roll as we were there to do the run. Location was spot on for us. Bed was comfy. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Location was absolutely perfect for what we were doing (the race) room was very warm.

Cons: The restaurant was having refurbs so we were all crammed into the smaller dining room for dinner and breakfast Sunday which didn’t really have much going for it just a place to eat not much atmosphere. We usually stay in air bnbs when we do these races but thought we would splash out on a hotel as we were doing the race with endurance life literally a stones throw from the hotel. I thought for paying £100 a night we would have more amenities maybe even somewhere downstairs sit next to a fire maybe read a book look out to sea, relax and socialise with other guests. We had no view of the sea in our room & nowhere to hide from the rain and look out to the sea downstairs. This was no issue when it was sunny and cold Saturday as we were racing & to be fair we visited when you were revamping your main restaurant so perhaps there is a better area in there for these things I’ve mentioned. We just expected slightly more from a hotel maybe these comments aren’t fair as our expectations stem from the only other hotel I stayed in Newquay (watergate bay) which is larger and perhaps can offer more indoor wave watching space for the wild winter. Overall it was a great stay but we just expected slightly more amenities. Other bits which maybe maintenance needs to check out: The TV was slightly broken it had lines in it and the remote didn’t work very well. The temperature of the water in the shower was inconsistent- hot, cold, hot, cold. A side table was missing. Maybe you don’t do this but our room wasn’t serviced Saturday which isn’t a problem as we kept tidy & didn’t need towels but we did have to go to reception for more tea bags and coffee pods which we didn’t know if we were allowed to do. Also I tried to call reception multiple times Friday to check you weren’t affected by the storm and no one picked up my message on voicemail or instagram but someone did call me at 3pm to say our room was ready so maybe something odd happened with my messages.

Very clean hotel with attentive staff and great breakfast.

Pros: Attentive staff. Clean room. Right by the beach. Great breakfast. We knew the room didn’t have a sea view but the view whilst not great didn’t spoil the stay in anyway.
