The Mill House

This 18th-century former corn mill provides first-class food and board, like a true traditional inn. The Mill House is on Cornwall’s north coast, between Port Isaac and Boscastle. The Mill is a charming stone building with a bar, dining room and residents' lounge all with cosy wood fires. It is set in 7 acres of its own wooded valley and garden. The restaurant serves local produce and local ales. A bar menu is also available. Camelot, King Arthur's legendary castle is located in the next valley.

Pros: Second time here , we absolutely love the friendliness of the staff. It is an old INN and that is exactly what it is . The exposed beams , small bar and cosy fire place, feels as though you are going back in time ,full of character.

Hidden away little gem

Pros: Very friendly welcome when i arrived and didn't question that I arrived early, about 2pm My room was a good size, (room 6) tea making facilities, powerfull shower, warm when needed, working towel rail, liked not having to close the curtains as the Inn is very secluded and out of the way. Eggs cooked beautifully at breakfast, I had fried one morning, scrambled the next both great, fried egg not crispy (overdone) scrambled ...well I haven't tasted scrambled like it b4 😋 Nice variety of choice at the table. My evening meal was 10/10 mushroom and brie burger was messy lol but was delicious and the chunky chips were great.

Cons: Sorry but I have to say the room could have done with a bit of extra loving care! it was fine apart from cobwebs and dust and the shower cubicle needed attention in the cleaning department.

Cosy, lovely staff, great food!

Pros: A beautiful, tranquil hotel, very cosy and close to Tintagel. It was a very lovely atmosphere. The staff were incredible, there was a younger woman working (maybe Kim?) she was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Food was delicious and breakfast was lovely!

Cons: The rooms are quite dated, carpets etc. But nothing completely off putting. The heaters in the room also seemed to be on some kind of timer so it was very very cold in the family room (I believe the attic room) as we stayed in December we felt the cold more.

Lovely Stay, disappointed by Booking.com

Pros: Everything was lovely except for Booking.com charging me extra for the Booking when I had to change travel dates a few times-This has disinclined me to book with Booking.com in the future

Cons: The Stay was great although I struggled with getting on the Internet The only negative was Booking.com insisting on charging me almost £50 extra which I think was far from fair

Pros: The breakfast and dinner was exceptional, the staff were warm and friendly. we would recommend this hotel to anyone who was looking for a break in North Cornwell

Cons: Just one point the toilet in our room didn't flush as well as it should have done.

Pros: Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We ate in each evening and the steak night on Thursday was great value for money.

Cons: Our room was above the bar so we expected a bit of noise. One evening, this carried on until after midnight which was disappointing.
