Whether you're visiting Truro to work or explore, Hotel VARA is an affordable ‘boutique’ sized hotel in a classic townhouse that sits in a leafy residential neighbourhood. A short stroll takes you into the centre of Truro where you can shop & browse around Cornwall’s capital city. The hotel has an informal, friendly atmosphere with Scandi-inspired social spaces. Relax with a drink in the bar or lounge, or find a quiet spot to work. Room sizes to suit solo travellers, couples, groups or families. Choose from single, double, twin, family, accessible and dog friendly rooms. There is also a studio room with kitchenette for longer stays. All rooms have en-suite bathroom or shower room, Freeview TV, complimentary WiFi and toiletries. Hotel VARA provides a ‘Scandi’ style continental breakfast, which is a relaxed help-yourself morning buffet. The INK bar stocks local Cornish drinks, speciality tea and barista coffee. Freshly cooked artisan pizzas (including vegan and gluten free) are available from 6pm to 9pm. There are 3 flexible meeting and events spaces for private hire, each set up to host online and hybrid meetings and presentations. These spaces are also available for private events and celebrations. Truro is centrally located with both the north and south coasts easily accessible for exploring or doing business in Cornwall. Hotel VARA is close to Truro station, offers secure bicycle storage, and there is a bus stop directly outside with regular buses to the centre of Truro and Falmouth. There is free on-site parking. Our single rooms, Cabin Double Rooms & studio room are not dog friendly.

Perfect stay in a stylish and welcoming property.

Pros: Ideal location for a weekend exploring Truro. The cabin room was clean and comfortable and the lounge area was perfect for relaxing pre-dinner drinks. We loved the continental style breakfast in the morning. Our host was friendly and very attentive. Perfect stay.

Pros: The staff were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.. We had a room on the ground floor whuch was ideal as stairs at our age is a challenge The location was ideal for our requirements. We will stay there again.

Highly recommended! Lovely staff

Pros: The hotel appears freshly renovated, thoughtfully balancing modern updates with respect for its age and original features. Parking is a great option, and we also noticed charging points available. Even though we stayed for just one night, it was a relaxing and pleasant experience. Breakfast could be more varied, particularly with more vegetable options, but we understand that it was the 1st of January and a challenging day for staff to operate in the usual way.

Wonderful. I have to travel to Truro a lot for work and I will certainly book again.

Pros: The staff were all wonderful. The rooms were well equipped and comfortable (lovely tea and biscuits!). I stayed for two nights so on one night I had one of the fantastic pizzas available in the hotel's bar and on the other night I walked 5 minutes to the Thomas Daniell for a meal which was also fab - recommend both and the proximity of the hotel to the Thomas Daniell is a big selling point for me. Cons: Nothing. Due to the age of the building there is no lift so there are a few stairs depending on where your room is. Not a problem for me but worth noting if you have a lot of bags or if accessibility is a factor.

We were very pleased to find this hotel and would happily stay again

Pros: Our room was very spacious. The bed was massive and comfortable and the pillows and linen were quality. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Cons: I would have liked a little ventilation in the room, but the sash windows we painted up and couldn't be opened. The music in the bar was not quite our to our liking. Neither was enough of a problem for us to mention to the staff.
